My Layout using Box to Happiness
This is my beautiful Leah on her 15th b-day last year. Let's just say that if we compared my family to the Spice Girls--Leah would be Sporty Spice! LOL! So getting her dressed up--makeup and all--was quite a feat. Up until recently, if you asked her to wear a dress, or if you asked her to wear her hair down, she cried. So on this particular day, I went with the flow and decided to let her be herself--just modified! And she complied! I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and discovered these beautiful pictures. Now, a year later, I found the PERFECT kit to scrap them with!

Well, as promised, I am back today to reveal still more exciting news!
A couple of weeks ago, I got a lovely e-mail from one of the nicest ladies I have never met! LOL! She had noticed my gallery at digishoptalk and had so graciously invited me to join her creative team. Well, you can only imagine how excited I was! So I sent her an email to find out what the job required and was pleasantly surprised to find out that she speaks French. Now, for those of you that know me pre-children--you know- pre-sag--you know that during high school, while other more intelligent people were taking Spanish because they knew that in Texas it would probably come in pretty darn handy, know that I took French instead because I thought it sounded prettier and the teacher was REALLY cool! My mother told me I would never use it and for 20 years--almost to the day of my high school graduation--she was right. Although my kids got a kick out of the fact that I could sing Happy Birthday to them in a different language!
The knowledge has been there, lying dormant in my once full brain, that has long since been sucked dry of any knowledge I might have had by those little saplings I call children. But deep, deep inside the recesses of my mind, French comprehension was still there. Thank goodness the little urchins left me that! Because today, I can say that I am now able to put that high school education to use and I can ALMOST comprehend everything that she says to me! The rest, well thank goodness for Bable translator! LOL! So armed with my very little vocabulary, her fantastic creations, and my love to scrap and create, I finished my first layout for my very first design team. YEAH!
So without further ado, I would like to introduce Filledesiles Designs new kit "Life Happens" This was a gorgeous kit to work with and made my first "creative team" experience an easy, painless one! :)
Check out these previews and then visit her Digiscrap'mania Store:
And lastly, here are the layouts from the creative team:
If you go right now to the store, you can get it at a discount too! What a deal!
And just in case you were wondering which one was mine...
I captured this sweet picture back in 2003 while they were sitting in a bluebonnet field. Leah has such a calm presence with Courtney and she sat quietly in her lap looking at a flower. If you knew the WHOLE story behind the picture, you would know that just moments before she was beating Rachael upside the head and scratching her eyes out. So THIS picture is the one I choose to remember in my scrapping time! LOL.
I will be back with more reveals soon. She is keeping us busy with lots of new kits coming in the future. It is so exciting to be a part of such a fantastic team of talented ladies!
Until next time....

My blog will be having an overhaul soon--time to step it up a notch! Maybe I can find time this weekend......be looking!

Today was one of those days. You know, the one that finds you extremely busy, so much so that I am just now finding the time to blog--and it is 2:15 in the morning! Nevertheless, we woke up this morning full of excitement because today, Courtney's softball team, who won their little league play and were invited to attend the city-wide tournament, had our first game.
Kirk, Courtney and I went on Monday evening to scout the team we would play. Seems funny to say that we would scout a 6 year old team, but dang it if we aren't a competitive group of coaches. Considering that Kirk took his high school team to the playoffs and our assistant coach helped take the Midway High School girls to state--and won, you can expect no less from them when it comes to 6/7 year old coach pitch! So off we went, to enjoy an evening of softball. The teams were good, and we came into it today a few players short, new rules that we only had one practice to teach, and no photographer (that's me) because she was told she need to coach first because she was loud. Mind you, he said that was a good thing....
We showed up early to hit and those sweet girlies where so nervous--so was I considering that the extent of my coaching experience happened from the dugout and behind the camera! But, we settled into play and believe it or not, won the game. Now that is amazing enough, but the part that almost made me pee in my pants, bust at the seams with pride and made her daddy do the white boy dance, was our little girl playing first base. Now I normally don't brag much :) but that little girl is eaten up with softball and she already instinctively knows things that girls her age just don't get yet. But I chalk that up to the fact that she has a dad who coaches and a sister who plays and we have been watching softball and dragging her to games for years now. I already fluff with pride when I hear the other dads talk about how hard she throws, so you can only imagine how I felt tonight when, going into the last inning, with one out and a girl on first and second, and a girl up to bat who happened to hit the ball way up in the sky, my little girl, my baby, caught that dad gum ball and immediately turned around, saw her runner on base took off and tagged her for the final out! Yep, that's right..she's mine! Of course, I won't tell you how silly I looked jumping in the air because if there is anything worse than a white boy dance, it's a fat momma dance! but at that point I was to caught up to care what others thought! LOL!
After the game, Kirk and I were totally drained. Coaching this age is hard work! I hope I recuperate before Thursday when we have our next game. I will.. I think.
So anyway, remember I told you I was guesting for the digital magazine The Daily Scrapper? I wanted to share my layouts with you today since we are now able to advertise. Make sure to stop by the mag if you haven't already, and if you have time, check out my gallery and leave me some love!
I leave you with these:

Oh Happy Day! June 7,2010
Well, It finally happened. I have been trying for several months now to really get my portofolio started so that I could apply and maybe create for some lovely artists at some of my very favorite scrapping spots! It seems that good things just are raining down on me.. or it could be all the praying and God got tired of hearing me! LOL. But today, I get to announce that I am a guest at The Daily Scrapper for the next several months! Along with that will come another exciting announcement in the next few days! I'm telling you, the Lord has been good! And everything happened right as school was ending, so I have plenty of time to commit to all my new activities! So, without further ado, I want to introduce you to my FIRST official publication of not one, but TWO of my layouts! Check it out here: My layouts are on page 19 and 20, but feel free to read the whole thing because it is a really great read...especially if you have ever wondered about digital scrapbooking! There is a really cute free kit that you can use to try your hand at it if you so wish! So, as part of my commitment to scrapping for this magazine..and others..This blog will now become my scrapping/family blog. So be prepared to see many more of my layouts and catch up with the family at the same time! With seven of us, there is SOMETHING happening all the time!
See you in a few days with more exciting news!

Becoming a Better Blogger
I am a bad blogger . Well, a bad writer in general. I have good intentions, I WANT to jot things down, to remember things, but it has come to my attention that I am lazy when it comes to writing. I have WAY to many other things that I need to do or would rather do. But this year, as I am going through the pictures that I so lovingly took in order to remember each and every event in my childrens lives, I realized that i take the pictures, but I am neglectful of getting them off of my computer and into something that they can put their hands on and look at. I mean really, what good is a picture if it is stuck inside my computer?
So, as i began the new year, I decided that I was really, really going to try this blog thing one more time. I already now that it will be impossible for me to take a picture a day and then journal about it, so I have decided that instead of P365 I am going to do T12--catchy isn't it? I(Tamara--hence the T) am going to try and take enough pictures throughout each month(that is the 12), to make a double page layout. So, January will get two pages, February two and so on and so forth. I want to be able to get the essence of each month. I will then scrap those two page layouts--EACH month. In order to remember all the little things, I am going to jot them down here. I think that is reasonable--don't you? Not too much to ask? i mean after all, my kiddos are leaving me every other year for the next three or four years. I want to be able to give them a life of memories to look at when I am no longer here. I don't want them to forget what fun we had. I don't want to forget what fun we had.
So that is my pledge--over the year I will finish a book and we will have it to look at for years to come. Then I have about 20 years of past pictures and future graduates, weddings and grandbabies--but that is a whole different story. But for now, I think I will just take one day at a time--or better yet, one month at a time!
